Be Smart Literated Financial since Toddler (Day 1, Introducing Money Concept, Believing "Sustenance" Comes From God, Sustenance Not Only About Money )

Introducing money concept would not be easy for children below 5 years. Should we introduce the concept of money to our children in the very early years? What kind of concept of money that they should know. 

In my opinion, they should know that money comes from a hard work. By working or selling goods/skills you got money. Then you can buy something with the money. Some amount of money can be paid or switch with a candy or foods or toys. But another some amount of money can not be paid or switch with a candy or foods or toys. So there is term of a lot of money and a few of money. And money should be earned not freely being given by other people. So they know that their parent work to get some money to buy food or toy for the children.

But there is something much more important than money that should be taught to the chidren. The children should know about sustenance. Sustenance not only about money but also a good health, having many good friends, loving parents, happy life etc is a sustenance also. God that give the sustenance to us. We have to say thank you to God for the sustenance being given to us. Because of God that gives us sustenance, we can teach them to ask everything they want first to God than their parents. 

For example:

*1. Introducing the concept of money*

Go to the market with the children and let them know, we buy food with money. I sell my book to other people then I receive some money. My 5th years old daughter then notice that when my mom write a book, the book can be sold and in return my mom get some money. Then my mom can buy me some toys with the money. Mommy have to write in order to have some money to buy me a toy. 

*2. Concept of Sustenance*

To live happily or to have anything we want needs money but a lot of money can not always can buy happines and fullfill anything we want. God directly give a clear example to my daughter. That day, she wants to swim in the waterboom. We had promised her to accompanied her to go swimming. She will used her owned money from "Lebaran". By the time we are so ready to go to waterboom, we all had already change our clothes to swimsuit , rain comes so big and badly plus thunder. In that circumtances, my mocca still insist and want to go to waterboom whatever happen. In her mind, I have enough money and my parents had promised me today then I had so happy, we're going to the waterboom. But just because the rain, it ruins everthing. It ruins my happiness. No matter how much money I can have, I still can not make the rain to stop. Noone can, even the billioners with so much money or my parents. Then my parents said not all you want can be fulfilled with money. Even mom, can not accompany you in the middle of the storm like this to go swimming. Mommy is not breaking the promise to accompany you darling. It is as simple as God do not want or grant you with the sustenance to go to the waterboom. Then, I asked her, "Are you asking God darling to make you can go swimming in the waterboom?" She said no. Then I tell her, "God is so powerful. He rules everything on and inside the earth include controlling the rain. You should ask anything you want first to God then your parents and strive for it. If you just ask mom (mommy said yes) and prepared the money yourself, God can simply can make your wants not happening, if He want to. So it is so important to ask to God first and say thank you when your wants can be fulfilled as the God will. After that case, hopefully Mocca knew the concept of sustenance. 

Knowing the concept of sustenance and the money, then it would be more easier to literate your children about finance.
